The ALCAT Test is a lab-based immune stimulation test. ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) is a term describing the biochemical process whereby the antibodies are detected in your blood. The ELISA Food Allergy Test measures IgE and IgG antibodies (immediate and delayed food allergies) to discover the influences of foods on the body to which you are allergic.

In a normal healthy person, or in someone with no food allergies, no antibodies will be detected. However, in a high percentage of people with chronic health problems, this test reveals elevated antibodies to a specific food or foods. The ELISA test will tell someone with an allergy what he/she is allergic to after detection of a raised antibody level. We would then target and remove the food which triggers the allergy and prescribe the right treatment for any deficiencies.
