Professional Practice

Alison has experience working with families and individuals on a range of issues from depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, eating disorders, bereavement, suicidal thoughts and drug and alcohol abuse.

Working for a number of years with the major UK charities Solace and Rape Crisis, Alison has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults who have suffered sexual abuse or domestic violence. As a result she is highly trained in dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and its effects on individuals and families.

Alison’s UK experience working within a hospital for children and adolescents suffering from mental health issues has equipped her to manage pathological diagnoses of personality disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and severe depression.

Alison also has experience working with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, as well as working with their families to aid and assist the child in their development and needs.

As a recent arrival to Hong Kong, Alison understands first-hand the challenges faced by expat families and the difficulties of adapting to new cultures and settings. As a trained creative therapist, Alison believes in the healing power of the imagination and an individual’s inherent creativity. She works with an individual’s unique and special qualities to empower and promote the wellbeing and health of each client.
